Penelope Houston, lead singer of the San Francisco punk band the Avengers, and successful solo artist, has released a new solo album entitled On Market Street.  We talk to Penelope about her early punk roots including when her band opened up for the Sex Pistols at Winterland, her expansive solo career, the re-release of the Avengers “Pink” album, and we listen to tracks from On Market Street.  Penelope has been back on tour with the Avengers, as well as performing shows in support of her latest solo album.  When she isn’t on tour, recording, or creating amazing graphic art, you might just catch her at work at the San Francisco Public Library.
